Logitech RS50 on PS5 and Xbox: which version to buy, and what works where

No paid links yet. We don't earn from any link on this page, so every shop link is a plain link. Prices are UK prices on the date shown.

Researched, not tested. We haven't used the RS50, so we don't say how it feels. This page is built from Logitech's UK shop pages, Logitech support and setup guides, the Gran Turismo 7 Online Manual and UK retailer listings, all checked on 1 November 2026.

The short answer: console support lives in two places. PlayStation is built into the base and can't be added later. Xbox is built into the wheel hub and can be. So if there's any chance you'll own a PlayStation, buy the RS50 System for PlayStation/PC (£599.99). Add the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox (£119.99) later and the same base covers PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Quick answers (Logitech UK, checked 1 Nov 2026):

The rule: PlayStation in the base, Xbox in the hub

Logitech says it plainly on its UK RS50 System page: "PlayStation compatibility requires RS50 System for Playstation and cannot be added later. Xbox compatibility can be added to the Playstation version of the RS50 System via the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox." (Logitech G UK, RS50 System)

The RS Wheel Hub page adds the other half: "Both versions of the Wheel Hub work on PlayStation, provided you have a wheel base that is compatible with PlayStation", and "If you combine the Xbox version of the Wheel Hub with the PlayStation version of the base then this combination is compatible with PC, PlayStation and Xbox" (RS Wheel Hub).

So the upgrade only goes one way:

Sources: Logitech's UK system requirements name "PlayStation®5 or PlayStation®4 console" for the PlayStation version and "XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One console" for the Xbox version, with Windows 10 or 11 for PC on both (RS50 System). The setup guides say the same: "for PlayStation 5 consoles, PlayStation 4 consoles and PC" (PS/PC guide, PDF) and "for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC" (Xbox/PC guide, PDF).

Two things the table doesn't show:

How to tell which version you have

Look at the base's model number on the label underneath. Logitech's spec pages list W-U0014 for the RS50 Base for PlayStation/PC (spec) and W-U0015 for the base in both the PC and Xbox/PC systems (PC base spec, Xbox/PC system spec). The Xbox hub is W-U0017. If you're buying second-hand, ask for a photo of that label before you pay.

Ready-made systems

Each RS50 System comes with the base, the RS Wheel Hub with RS Round Wheel fitted, a table clamp, T-nuts and bolts, power supply and USB cable. There are no pedals.

You play on What to buy UK total with RS Pedals
PS5 / PS4 + PC RS50 System PlayStation/PC £599.99 + RS Pedals £119.99 £719.98
Xbox + PC RS50 System Xbox/PC £599.99 + RS Pedals £119.99 £719.98
PC only RS50 System PC £519.99 (sold out temporarily) + RS Pedals £119.99 £639.98
PC + PlayStation + Xbox RS50 System PlayStation/PC £599.99 + RS Wheel Hub for Xbox £119.99 + RS Pedals £119.99 £839.97

Argos lists the PlayStation/PC System (7748743) at £599.99 (PriceSpy, 1 Nov 2026), and Currys had it at £599.99 too. We couldn't confirm an Argos price for the Xbox/PC version (7684546) from Argos itself.

On 1 Nov 2026 Logitech UK was giving a free RS Shifter & Handbrake or RS H-Shifter with a PRO Racing Wheel, RS50 System or RS50 Base. Logitech's Sim Weeks terms: 26 October – 8 November 2026 or while supplies last, one free item per qualifying purchase, Logitech's own shops only, and products tagged "New" excluded. Logitech also listed code RSP50OFF for 50% off RS Pedals with an RS50 Base or System. Check both in the basket before relying on them.

Build it from parts (while Logitech's sale prices last)

On 1 Nov 2026 Logitech UK had the RS50 parts on sale, which made building your own cheaper than the ready-made System:

Part Sale price Was
RS50 Base for PlayStation/PC £269.99 £339.99
RS50 Base for PC £199.99 £249.99
RS Wheel Hub for Xbox/PC £119.99 £139.99
RS Wheel Hub for PC £99.99 £119.99
RS Track Wheel (RS Round Wheel sold out temporarily) £59.99 £69.99
RS50 Table Clamp £24.99 n/a

Sources: RS50 Base, RS Wheel Hub, RS Track Wheel, RS Round Wheel, RS50 Table Clamp.

A bare base doesn't come with a hub, a wheel or a table clamp (Logitech lists base, power supply, USB cable, helper tools, T-nuts and bolts, washers and a hex key). The hub doesn't come with a wheel. So a complete build is base + hub + wheel, plus the clamp if you race at a desk:

Build Parts Total With RS Pedals
PlayStation + PC PS/PC base + PC hub + Track Wheel + clamp £454.96 £574.95
PC + PlayStation + Xbox PS/PC base + Xbox hub + Track Wheel + clamp £474.96 £594.95
Xbox + PC (our reading, see below) PC base + Xbox hub + Track Wheel + clamp £404.96 £524.95

At these prices the three-platform build is £245.02 less than buying the PlayStation System and adding the Xbox hub (£719.98). Drop the clamp if you're mounting to a rig: the base comes with T-nuts and bolts.

About the Xbox build: Logitech's UK Base page says Xbox compatibility "can be added by attaching a wheel that is compatible with XBOX, such as the RS Wheel Hub for XBOX", and the Xbox hub page says it pairs with "any compatible Logitech G Direct Drive base". The PC Base and the base inside the Xbox/PC System share model number W-U0015. Logitech still doesn't spell out that exact pairing in one sentence, so if Xbox is the reason you're buying, the ready-made Xbox/PC System is the safe choice.

Pedals and older Logitech gear on console

RS mode or PRO mode?

The RS50 has a Compatibility Mode on its OLED screen. In PRO mode it restarts and shows up to the console or PC "as if it is the PRO Wheel", which helps in games that know the PRO but not the RS50. Logitech's setup guide says "some titles on console will also not recognise the wheel unless it is in Pro Wheel compatibility mode."

On Logitech's list, most console games use RS mode. The exceptions it names:

Set the mode before you start the game. Logitech's settings assume the wheel is at its full 8 Nm, so lower the dampener if you run less (RS50 in-game settings).

TRUEFORCE on console

TRUEFORCE is Logitech's extra layer of detail from in-game physics and audio. It only works in games that support it, and Logitech's table shows a TF Audio value where it does. On 1 Nov 2026 those console rows included:

Game Platform TF Audio (Logitech's setting)
Gran Turismo 7 PlayStation 100
Assetto Corsa Competizione PS5 / Xbox 50 / 30
EA Sports WRC PlayStation 35
F1 25 PlayStation / Xbox 20 / 20
Forza Motorsport (2023) Xbox 100
Forza Horizon 5 and 6 Xbox N/A (no TRUEFORCE)

In the N/A games the wheel still gives normal force feedback. For Forza Horizon 6, Forza's official wheel list (dated 19 May 2026, checked 31 Oct 2026) shows the RS50 fully supported on Xbox and PC; see our Forza Horizon 6 wheel guide.

Gran Turismo 7 on the RS50

Is it supported?

Yes, by Logitech, though not by name in the game's manual yet. Logitech's RS50 settings table has two Gran Turismo 7 rows under PlayStation, road cars and Gr.x cars, and Logitech's TRUEFORCE page lists Gran Turismo 7 among its supported games (TRUEFORCE).

The GT7 Online Manual's "Steering Wheel Controllers" page, checked 1 Nov 2026, lists 15 wheels. The Logitech ones are the G PRO Racing Wheel, G29 Driving Force and G923. The RS50 isn't on it (GT7 Online Manual). So the support comes from Logitech's side, and you need the PlayStation/PC version.

Logitech's GT7 settings

On the wheel (both road and Gr.x cars):

In GT7 (Quick Menu before a race > Settings > Controller Settings > Steering Force Feedback), from Logitech's screenshots:

The GT7 manual explains the two sliders: a higher Max. Torque gives a "duller" response from the tyres when cornering hard, and a higher Sensitivity makes the wheel "more responsive to changes".

If the wheel shakes in GT7

Logitech's support note on this says Gran Turismo's force feedback "provides a very strong centering force" that can make the wheel oscillate, "especially the Gr.3-Gr.1 models". The fix, in order: set Force Feedback Sensitivity to 1, then lower Max. Torque if it still shakes. The base's Dampener helps "somewhat" (Logitech support).

Manual gears in GT7

The manual says that with a shifter and clutch pedal you should select Manual (MT) in Driving Options. The gear stick alone gives auto-clutch, and pressing the clutch pedal switches to full manual. Make sure your pedal set has a clutch before you count on this.

For GT7 wheel picks at each budget, see our best wheel for Gran Turismo 7 guide.

FAQ

Does the Logitech RS50 work on PS5?

Yes, but only the RS50 System or Base for PlayStation/PC. Logitech says PlayStation compatibility "cannot be added later", so the Xbox/PC and PC versions won't work on a PS5.

Does the RS50 work on PS4?

Logitech says the PlayStation/PC version works with a "PlayStation®5 or PlayStation®4 console". Check the game: Logitech's list says the PS4 version of Assetto Corsa Competizione isn't supported.

Can I use one RS50 on PS5 and Xbox?

Yes. Buy the PlayStation/PC version and add the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox (£119.99 on 1 Nov 2026). Logitech says that combination works on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Can I add PlayStation to an Xbox RS50?

No. No hub or accessory adds it. You'd need a PlayStation/PC base, and your Xbox hub fits it.

Does the RS50 work with Gran Turismo 7?

Yes, on the PlayStation/PC version. Logitech publishes GT7 settings for it (RS mode, TF Audio 100). It isn't on the GT7 manual's list of wheels yet, which names Logitech's G PRO, G29 and G923.

Does the RS50 come with pedals?

No. Logitech's RS Pedals cost £119.99, and on console they connect to the RS50 base.
