Best wheel for Gran Turismo 7 in the UK (2026)

No paid links yet. We don't earn from any link on this page, so every shop link is a plain link. Prices are UK prices on the date shown.

Researched, not tested. We haven't driven these wheels, so we don't say how they feel. This page is built from the Gran Turismo 7 Online Manual, the makers' UK shops and support pages, and UK retailer listings, all checked on 1 November 2026.

The short answer: for GT7 on PS5, the best value direct-drive kit in the UK on 1 Nov 2026 was the Thrustmaster T598 (£449.99, pedals included). Above that, pick between the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro, the official GT wheel, and the Logitech RS50 for PlayStation/PC, which most AI answers leave out. On a tighter budget, the Logitech G923 (£219.99 at Currys) or Thrustmaster T248R (£229 at Currys) are complete kits.

Quick picks (UK prices checked 1 Nov 2026):

What GT7 officially supports

The GT7 Online Manual's "Steering Wheel Controllers" page, checked on 1 Nov 2026, says "Gran Turismo 7 supports the following steering wheel controllers" and lists 15 (GT7 Online Manual):

Two things the list doesn't tell you:

Two things AI answers get wrong

1. They leave out the Logitech RS50. It isn't on GT7's manual list yet, but Logitech supports it: its RS50 settings table has two Gran Turismo 7 rows under PlayStation (road cars and Gr.x cars), and its TRUEFORCE page lists GT7 among supported games (RS50 in-game settings, TRUEFORCE). GT7 update 1.72 (15 Oct 2026) also revised force feedback for the "Logitech RS50 System" (GT7 update 1.72). You need the PlayStation/PC version; Logitech says PlayStation compatibility "cannot be added later".

2. The GT DD Pro isn't the only direct-drive base for PS5. On 1 Nov 2026 UK shops sold at least five PlayStation-compatible direct-drive options:

Base Torque (maker's figure) UK price, 1 Nov 2026 Named in GT7 manual?
Thrustmaster T598 5 Nm constant, "+100%" overshoot £449.99 with pedals Yes
Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro 5 Nm, or 8 Nm with Boost Kit 180 from £434.99 (base) Yes
Logitech RS50 (PlayStation/PC) 8 Nm £599.99 (base, hub, wheel) No; Logitech publishes GT7 settings
Fanatec ClubSport DD+ 18 Nm £699.99 (base only) No
Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel (PlayStation/PC) 11 Nm £869.99 (base and wheel) Yes

Fanatec's own support page lists "Gran Turismo DD Pro" and "ClubSport DD+" as its current PlayStation-compatible bases (Fanatec PlayStation FAQ).

The wheels, by budget

Under £250: Logitech G923 or Thrustmaster T248R

Logitech G923 for PlayStation (2.3 Nm). Named in GT7's manual. Logitech UK sells the PlayStation version at £329.99 (Logitech G UK), but Currys had it at £219.99 on 1 Nov 2026 (Currys). It comes with pedals and supports TRUEFORCE.

Thrustmaster T248R (3.1 Nm). The GT7 manual names the older T248. Thrustmaster UK now sells the T248R in its place, and the old T248 PlayStation page opens the T248R. Thrustmaster says the T248R has "a T-HD hybrid Force Feedback system delivering 3.1 N⋅m of torque", a 28 cm rim, a 3-pedal set and official PS5 and PS4 licensing (Thrustmaster UK). For GT7, Thrustmaster publishes a "Mapping – GRAN TURISMO® 7 (PS4 & PS5) – T248R" guide and lists GT7 on PS4 and PS5 for the wheel's screen and LEDs (Thrustmaster support). Price: £249.99 at Thrustmaster UK, £229.99 at Argos (Argos), £229.00 at Currys (was £249.00 from 4 Sep to 29 Oct 2026) (Currys).

Which? The T248R has more torque on paper (3.1 Nm vs 2.3 Nm), a screen and a clutch pedal in the box. The G923 is on GT7's own list and has TRUEFORCE. At Currys' prices on 1 Nov there was £9 between them.

£430–£750: Thrustmaster T598 or Fanatec GT DD Pro

Thrustmaster T598 (5 Nm direct drive). Named in GT7's manual. Thrustmaster calls its motor "Direct Axial Drive" with "5 Nm of constant torque" and "overshoot capability of +100%". It comes with an 11.8-inch (30 cm) detachable rim and the metal Raceline Pedals LTE, a two-pedal set (Thrustmaster says it "features 2 pedals"; a clutch and load-cell kit is sold separately), and works on "PS5, PS4 and PC" (Thrustmaster UK). GT7 update 1.72 (15 Oct 2026) revised its force feedback (GT7 update 1.72). At £449.99, in stock at Thrustmaster UK on 1 Nov 2026, it was the cheapest PS5 direct-drive kit with pedals we found. The base alone was £349.99.

Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro. The wheel AI answers recommend, and it's named in GT7's manual. Fanatec calls it "the official Direct Drive Wheel Base for Gran Turismo®". The UK options on 1 Nov 2026 (Fanatec UK):

Fanatec's FAQ says PlayStation support "does not depend on the steering wheel itself", so on a GT DD Pro you aren't limited to the GT wheel.

Which? The T598 is cheaper and complete in one box. The GT DD Pro is the official GT wheel and part of a bigger range of Fanatec rims and pedals; the 5 Nm bundle was on backorder on 1 Nov.

£600–£900: Logitech RS50 or G PRO

Logitech RS50 System for PlayStation/PC (8 Nm). Not on GT7's manual list, but supported by Logitech with published GT7 settings. £599.99 at Logitech UK on 1 Nov 2026, with the base, RS Wheel Hub and RS Round Wheel, and a table clamp. No pedals: Logitech's RS Pedals (load-cell brake) are £119.99, so £719.98 for a full kit (Logitech G UK). Logitech's UK shop also listed a free RS Shifter & Handbrake or RS H-Shifter with an RS50 System, RS50 Base or PRO Racing Wheel (26 October – 8 November 2026 or while supplies last; products tagged "New" excluded), and code RSP50OFF for 50% off RS Pedals with an RS50 Base or System. Check the basket.

Its advantage over the GT DD Pro is the platform route: add the RS Wheel Hub for Xbox (£119.99) and the same base covers PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The full rules, version check and GT7 setup are on our RS50 on PS5 and Xbox page.

Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel for PlayStation/PC (11 Nm). Named in GT7's manual. Logitech describes it as "11 Nm Direct Drive with TRUEFORCE & Wheel". The PlayStation/PC version was £869.99, in stock at Logitech UK on 1 Nov 2026; pedals are extra (Logitech G UK).

Over £700: Fanatec ClubSport DD+ (18 Nm)

Fanatec lists the ClubSport DD+ as PlayStation-compatible, at £699.99 for the base alone on 1 Nov 2026 (Fanatec UK). GT7's manual doesn't name it, so there's nothing from Polyphony to point you to. Fanatec (February 2026) and Corsair (4 December 2025) do say that Fanatec's FullForce works in GT7 with the ClubSport DD+ and the Gran Turismo DD Extreme (Fanatec, Corsair). Add a wheel and pedals and the cost climbs fast: Fanatec's ClubSport DD+ Ready2Race GT3 Bundle was £1,039.99.

Thrustmaster T-GT II: officially GT, but out of stock

The T-GT II is "officially licensed for PlayStation 5 and Gran Turismo" and is on GT7's list. On 1 Nov 2026 the T-GT II Pack was £499.99 (was £599.99) but out of stock at Thrustmaster UK (Thrustmaster UK). The box holds the base, a detachable wheel, the power supply, a clamp and manuals: no pedals. It's belt-driven, not direct drive. At that price the T598 is the easier buy.

Fanatec CSL DD on PS5: no

Fanatec's FAQ says "PlayStation compatibility is built exclusively into select wheelbases" and lists only the Gran Turismo DD Pro and ClubSport DD+ as current PlayStation bases, plus two discontinued ones (CSL Elite Wheel Base+ and the Podium DD1 PS4 version) (Fanatec PlayStation FAQ). The CSL DD (5 Nm £289.99, 8 Nm £374.99 on 1 Nov 2026) isn't on that list, and a PlayStation-licensed wheel rim won't add it, because Fanatec says compatibility "does not depend on the steering wheel itself". For a Fanatec on PS5, buy a GT DD Pro or ClubSport DD+.

The GT7 manual's "Fanatec Podium" entry is similar. Fanatec's FAQ names only the discontinued Podium DD1 PS4 version as PlayStation-compatible, so don't assume the current Podium DD (25 Nm, £959.99) works on PS5 without asking Fanatec.

MOZA on PS5: announced, not on sale in the UK

GT7's manual already lists the MOZA R5S Pro Racing Simulator, and GT7 update 1.72 (15 Oct 2026) added native support for it (GT7 update 1.72), though you can't buy one yet. MOZA announced it at Tokyo Game Show on 17 Sep 2026, with the R16S Ultra Racing Simulator and R16S Ultra base, as its "first officially licensed racing products" for PS5, with "native support for Gran Turismo 7". MOZA's own wording is that they "will work with PlayStation®5 subject to Sony Interactive Entertainment's final product approval", and that it "will announce further details regarding pricing, availability, and the official launch date at a later stage" (MOZA, TGS 2026).

On 1 Nov 2026, a search of MOZA's UK shop for "R5S" and "R16S" returned no R5S or R16S product. For the bases MOZA sells now, including the R5 Pro, its FAQ says: "Currently, MOZA Racing products do not support PS4 or PS5. No official workaround." (MOZA Wheel Base FAQs). See MOZA R5 vs R5 Pro.

Setting up your wheel in GT7

FAQ

What is the best wheel for Gran Turismo 7?

It depends on budget. On 1 Nov 2026 the Thrustmaster T598 (£449.99 with pedals) was the cheapest direct-drive kit on GT7's own list. The Fanatec GT DD Pro is the official GT wheel, and the Logitech RS50 (£599.99, pedals extra) is the one to choose if you might also want Xbox.

Does the Logitech RS50 work with GT7?

Yes, the PlayStation/PC version. It isn't on GT7's manual list yet, but Logitech publishes GT7 settings for it and lists GT7 as a TRUEFORCE game, and GT7 update 1.72 revised force feedback for the "Logitech RS50 System".

Is the Fanatec GT DD Pro the only direct-drive wheel for PS5?

No. On 1 Nov 2026 UK shops also sold the Thrustmaster T598, Logitech RS50 and G PRO PlayStation versions, and Fanatec's ClubSport DD+, which Fanatec lists as PlayStation-compatible.

Does the Fanatec CSL DD work on PS5?

No. Fanatec says PlayStation support is built into select bases, and the CSL DD isn't one of them. Changing the wheel rim doesn't add it.

Do MOZA wheels work on PS5?

Not yet in the UK. MOZA has announced the R5S Pro and R16S for PS5, "subject to Sony Interactive Entertainment's final product approval", with no UK price or date on 1 Nov 2026. GT7's manual already lists the R5S Pro.

Do I need a clutch pedal for GT7?

No, paddles work. For full manual with a clutch, GT7's manual says you need both a gear stick and a clutch pedal.
